“This award is for bloggers who strive to write for everybody, and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader.”
I’m surprised and honoured to have been nominated for the Black Cat Blue Sea Award twice on the same day by 2 great bloggers. I’m sure you would love their pages too if you stopped by:
Samuditha’s Blog DreamDoodleDraw is beautiful. Not only does she showcase her pencil drawings, but she writes poetry as well. I first noticed her work when I spotted her pastel drawings on another blog. I’ve linked to the sweet drawings I’m referring to. You should check her work it, it’s lovely 🙂
Another blogger I admire is TheOriginalPhoenix’s Confessions of a Reborn Girl. Her blog is interesting and varied. She has posts about Paying it Forward, psychology themed posts and has even guest written a post for a popular blog! She writes about issues affecting many of us. Check out her blog too 🙂
I’ll combine the questions both girls asked me and try not to let my answers go on forever and bore you 🙂
1. What is the reason you created your blog?
It’s not for fame or to make money. I write anonymously and nobody in real life knows I do it. I just wanted to write. I’ve always wanted to write but I’ve not really written anything particularly creative for many years. By writing on the blog, I’m working my writing muscles and hopefully strengthening them as I go. I’d ideally like to create a blog with useful practical posts on children, careers, misc. interspersed with poetry and some flowery stuff. I AM a people pleaser, and enjoy it when people like or comment. There’s a bit of that in us all though, eh?
2. What are your hobbies, talents and aim for life?
You could put me in front of almost anyone and I could find common ground and chat to them for hours about pretty much anything. I don’t get intimidated easily and don’t get paranoid that people won’t like me. If they don’t then I’m just not their cup of tea. I’m not easily shocked and I rarely judge others. I’m a nice person. Is that a talent? Erm.. no it’s not. My hobbies? Writing; reading; swimming; walking; listening to music and day dreaming. Aim in life – just to be happy and for my family and friends to live an easy life. Oh, and to travel and hopefully touch peoples’ lives in a positive way.
3. Who is your role model, how and why?
I don’t have a role model. My mother taught me that nobody is better than anyone else. People are wonderful and flawed. We’re all just different and unique. There are bits of everyone I admire.
and answers to the other 3 questions:
Who’s your favorite singer/band right now?
This is difficult because I’m 41 and my music taste hasn’t moved on from the 90’s! I listen to lots of current music every day with the children I care for, but deep down I’m an Indie Girl with some punk thrown in. I used to go to concerts and music festivals all the time. I’ve seen oldies (not oldies to me, mind) like Oasis; Charlatans; Stone Roses; Stereophonics; The Offspring; Rancid. I also enjoy old soul singers like Otis Reading and Aretha Franklin. It’s eclectic really.
Where do you get the inspiration for your blog from?
Other bloggers and everyday life.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
If I’m wearing the correct clothes, I love to walk in the rain or treasure hunt on the beach with my son (I live by the sea). It’s also nice hearing the rain batter against the car when it’s very heavy.
I can honestly not choose 7 people – or would that be 14 for my 2 nominations?! I’ve found something good in all blogs I’ve been reading this past month of blogging. I think bloggers who write regularly and put some thought into their posts all deserve an award 🙂 I also don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by not nominating them! I know I’m breaking the rules (I like to do that sometimes) and so I’m willing to keep the badge from my home page. However I do nominate anyone who believes they deserve the nomination, on 1 condition. Please answer the following questions and mention my page in your post. Let me know you’ve done it so that I can check your page out and read your answers. I think these are really important questions to answer:
- The world would be a better place if (insert answer here, taking as much space as necessary).
- If I were to die tomorrow my main regret would be (insert answer here and the more you write the merrier). Not that it’s a merry subject right enough!
- I am happiest when……………..
Thank you if you’ve read this far 🙂
